ExxonMobil
Picks GDS Corp for "Problem Areas"
Over the past 18 months
GDS Corp and AWC Louisiana have been successfully
working together to provide gas detection
solutions for ExxonMobil's Baton Rouge,
LA refinery - the largest in North America.
Following
a thorough evaluation process, ExxonMobil
chose GDS Corp gas detection equipment based
on reliability, field support and competitive
pricing.
To
quote a key maintenance technician: "It
has been great to work with GDS and AWC.
The detectors and quality of service has
sovled many of the problem areas the ExxonMobil
refinery has been facing in the past. This
has recenly drawn the attention of our upper
management. This week they asked us to explain
why our failure rates for gas detectors dropped
so drastically this past year. Our main response
was the use of GDS detectors in our problem
areas, and the shorter down time due to the
fast and reliable service of AWC".

Wireless Gas Monitors
Cut Installation Costs by 75%
Wireless
technology continues to gain acceptance and
credibility with industrial customers - just
look at the number of competing
wireless protocols emerging from standards
committees worldwide. Most are based
on 2.4Ghz technology, making them expensive
and limiting their range to line-of-sight
installations.
GDS
Corp 900Mhz wireless gas monitors provide
reliable & secure communications for
dedicated installations today - and can save
up to 75% of the cost of installation over
a traditional wired system by eliminating
much of the design work, conduit installation
and field wiring.
Using
industry-standard 900Mhz radio modules and
antennas, GDS Corp battery-powered GASMAX
ECx and DC-powered GASMAX IIx wireless monitors
can be programmed to transmit at four power
levels, from 10 mW to 1 watt, and to use
either broadcast protocols for multiple
receivers or dedicated transmit / acknowledge
protocol for increased reliability. Combined
with IEEE encryption and security protocols,
GASMAX wireless systems can achieve 'wire-like'
reliability in even the most challenging
conditions.
